Improving Engagement & the Employee Experience

February 2 ·  9 a.m. -12 p.m. (3 hours)

Employee engagement is vital to your business success.  It’s a fact that employee engagement improves customer satisfaction, profitability, productivity, and reduces employee turnover.  And it starts right away!  Typically employees are more engaged during the first six months than at any other time, so the question is what are you doing after the “honeymoon” is over?  This workshop will provide strategies that help you keep them engaged and contributing to your bottom line over the long haul.

From Supervisor to Leader: Taking the Next Step

March 16, 17, & 21 ·  9 a.m. -12 p.m. (9 hours)

This three-day series is specifically designed for accomplished supervisors or managers looking to move into leadership positions. It includes the EQ-i 2.0 assessment & report, as well as a one-time coaching session.

March 16: From the Inside Out

Participants will take the EQ-i 2.0 assessment and explore personalized results and how the 15 subscales of emotional intelligence combine and act together to define markers of success or create areas that hinder their ability to effectively lead others.  Based on individual results, containment strategies will be identified to boost emotional intelligence when leading others.    

March 17: Influencing Others

Title and authority aren’t always what it takes to get things done.  Leadership is a ‘people’ business.  Leaders need credibility built on a foundation of trust and expertise.  They need strong, effective relationships that leverage the talent and strengths of the people around them. This session will explore the value of creating a solid working environment where people are engaged, innovative, accountable, and working toward a shared vision where they feel valued and heard. 

March 21: Making Effective and Lasting Change

Leaders lead to affect change.  However, managing the transition people go through when faced with organizational change can be a perplexing and daunting undertaking.  It starts by creating a culture of change and requires addressing the internal transition people are experiencing during the change. This session will explore the steps leaders take to guide their teams through effective change while creating and maintaining a culture of innovation in a climate that’s sustainable, open, trusting, and future focused.

Understanding Your Energy

April 4 ·  9 – 11 a.m. (2 hours)

Albert Einstein once said, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the energy you want and you cannot help but get that reality…” The question becomes how is your energy affecting your ability to lead others? In this session, we’ll define energy and discuss how each of us have the power to identify and shift our own energies to better serve our goals and the people we lead.

This package is open to the public and registration is required. Participants can register through CVENT on the MU Extension and Missouri Training Institute websites. After a participant completes registration, a confirmation email will be sent to them. The workshops will be held virtually using Zoom. Registration is for a single participant. If more than one person is attending on one computer, registration is required for each additional participant. In order to have successful participation in the series, participants are required to have their webcam and audio active. Participants will not need to download the platform to participate.
