Prescribed Grazing: Advanced Management School

Description

Landowners and livestock producers will learn more about enhancing their grazing management and view practices that are utilized by grazers to extend the grazing season and improve the productivity of their grazing systems. Topics discussed included pasture weed control, alternative forages, fescue stockpiling, soil health in forage systems, forage quality and supplementation and pasture/forage/range insurance. In addition, field and farm activities include pasture assessment, pasture allocation, body condition scoring, soil sampling, forage sampling and plant/wed identification.
