On-Farm Produce Safety Workshop and Farm Tour

Join MU Extension, and Milsap Farms owner Curtis Milsap, for an on-farm produce safety workshop and farm tour. Milsap Farm is a diversified farm, growing 2 acres of vegetables and flowers annually, as well as using high tunnels and greenhouses, four miles north of Springfield, MO. The tour will last from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

Produce safety is an essential part of any produce farming operation. This workshop will highlight potential food safety risks on the farm as well as how to mitigate them. The workshop will include discussion of the regulatory requirements of produce safety as well as the use of good agricultural practices on the farm. Resources to support produce safety will be highlighted and the workshop will include a tour of the farm’s growing and processing/packing areas. 

This workshop is being sponsored by Missouri Farmers Union and Springfield Community Gardens 

The On-Farm Produce Safety Workshop and Farm Tour will take place at Milsap Farms. Please arrive 10 minutes early to the event so that we may start at 6:00 p.m.
