Seeking Promise Zone (North City and parts of North County) residents who want to create more equitable regional policies for neighborhoods!

Neighborhood Leadership Fellows is a highly selective, advanced leadership training program of UMSL, MU Extension and the St. Louis Promise Zone-St. Louis Economic Development Partnership.

The mission of Neighborhood Leadership Fellows (NLF) is to increase and amplify the voices of North St. Louis City and County residents at the civic decision-making tables in order to produce more equitable regional policies for neighborhoods. The primary geographic focus area is neighborhoods within the St. Louis Promise Zone due to the well-documented need for more targeted investment.

Neighborhood Leadership Fellows provides hands-on training emphasizing educational workshops, tactical trainings, positional power trainings collaborative learning, mentoring and networking.

Individuals selected to participate in Neighborhood Leadership Fellows will receive a $2,000 stipend and UMSL Chancellor's Certificate in Civic Leadership.

This nine-month training program runs from January 2022 - September 2022. NLF sessions will be held one weekend a month on Fridays and Saturdays. To prioritize the health and safety of participants and facilitators amidst COVID-19, NLF 2022 will comprise of a mix of online and in-person sessions.
