Meat Judging Workshop and Practice Contest

Description

The event will include a workshop prior to a practice contest to be held after the lunch break. The workshop participants will observe a lamb carcass being processed into retail cuts. They will also observe retail cuts from the pork loin and ham being processed. Participants will learn judging priorities for each species and identifying characteristics of the retail cuts on the meat identification list for Missouri 4-H. The workshop will also include how to take notes and give oral reasons. Register online or by contacting the Webster County MU Extension Center at 417 859-2044. Registration fee is $20 per person or $60 for a team of 4 members from the same county.
