Description

This Instructor Level 8-hour seminar provides law enforcement instructors with a well-rounded understanding of oleoresin capsicum products as intermediate force options. The class focuses on training, application, and decontamination practices as well as policy, liability, and training documentation considerations. The course does not focus on one specific brand or product, but instead provides instruction on the options present, the benefits/detriments, and allows instructors to make an educated decision on what best suits their agency needs. The course also focuses on the need for de-escalation skills, medical research, and court findings. The practical application component of the program requires that instructors move beyond a static classroom environment and engage each other in scenario events while using inert OC sprays to effectively gauge their targeting capabilities.

To successfully complete this training attendees must demonstrate proper techniques for effective OC delivery, demonstrate the ability to instruct related material to classmates and the ability to evaluate the technique of other classmates
