Instructor Development School

Description

This five-day, state-certified course will lead to an understanding and improvement in the use of techniques and methods for effective teaching. The student will also gain an awareness and appreciation of the instructor‘s overall role in the training process.

Requirements:
Development and presentation of a lesson plan is a requirement. LETI recommends bringing a laptop computer. Students will use Microsoft PowerPoint and other programs during instruction, and they will need access to a computer. 

Begin to think about a topic for your sample lesson plan. Be prepared to bring source documents to class on the first day. There will be some evening work sessions.

Topics include the following:
• Principles of learning
• Lesson plan construction
• Methods of instruction
• Test construction and validation
• Source document construction
• Legal aspects of training 

Continuing Education Credit:
• Legal Studies (2 hours)
• Skill Development (19 hours)
• Technical Studies (23 hours)
