EMT: Basic Training Program

This course will prepare the student to function in the Emergency Medical Systems of Missouri and the United States at the level of an EMT-Basic, delivering effective and efficient Basic Life Support level prehospital patient care as part of the total patient care track (from entry into the EMS system through the hospital stay to discharge. Major topics covered in the training program are patient assessment, patient care, use of equipment, medical conditions, traumatic injuries, and the EMS System.

- In the lower-division baccalaureate/associate degree category, 9 semester hours in health science, allied health, emergency medical services, or fire science (7/14).
