Description
Hours: 4 | Prerequisites: None | Students: 15–25 | Host requirements: None
This class addresses the role and responsibility that the company officer is expected to perform when responding to a structure involved in fire. Even if the organization you work for has a progressive administration, utilizes ICS and ISO, there are gaps that need to be addressed. Discussion includes: How much time has passed before you are dispatched, and arrive on scene; What critical decision must be made even before Incident Command is fully functional and Incident Safety Officer assignments has been made. While those functions are becoming active we must: Arrive alive, determine the building construction type and principal hazard, determine the rate at which the structure is burning, and determine task assignments and risk to personnel.
