Chronic Disease Self-Management


MARSHFIELD, Mo. – Do you or someone you care for have diabetes, asthma, heart disease, back pain, cancer, arthritis, fibromyalgia, depression or ANY other ongoing health condition? Join us for Chronic Disease Self-Management class, being offered by the Webster County University of Missouri Extension in cooperation with Mercy and Senior Age Area Agency on Aging. The group is providing incentives for participants to complete the program. The program is FREE to anyone but limited to 20 people. Each participant can receive up to $100 in vouchers to be used at the Marshfield Farmer’s Market. Each participant will receive $5 vouchers for each class they complete that can be used at the Farmer’s Market.

Class topics include; role of nutrition and exercise in self management, managing pain, fatigue, difficult emotions, depression, medications, treatment decisions, communication with family, friends and health care providers. Class are interactive, where support and success builds confidence in your ability to manage your health while maintaining an active fulfilling life, confidential and protected by the privacy act.

The program will start Tuesday August 10th at 10am at the Webster County Extension Center and will be face to face. The class will meet each following Tuesday for 6 weeks from 10 am to noon. The Webster County Extension Center is located at 800 S. Marshall Street, Marshfield, MO. 65706
