Description
This workshop provides new ideas for combining creative movement and activity with learning about numbers and letters in developmentally appropriate ways. Join us and find out how to help children get ready for kindergarten by slithering like a snake, hopping like a bunny one time, two times, and three times, and waving back and forth like the wind.
After attending this workshop, child care providers will:
1. Have new knowledge of small and large motor development, both principles and milestones, for young children.
2. Understand common goals for young children's early literacy and numeracy skills.
3. Implement new activities that combine physical activity and creative movement with supporting young children’s literacy and numeracy.
4. Recognize how these activities support MO’s Move Smart intermediate level indicators, especially indicator 6 (Learning Integrated) and indicator 12 (Staff Participation and Role Modeling).
