Broadband P3 Competition Event

  • Combination Face to Face/Zoom

Description

The University of Missouri System Broadband Initiative has teamed up with MU Extension and the Northwest Regional Council of Governments to develop an economically sustainable, public-private partnership (P3) business model designed to  supply affordable access to high-speed internet (broadband) to residents and businesses in northwest Missouri.

Multidisciplinary teams of students from UM System universities will compete this summer to develop P3 business models using surveys, research, data and discussions  to develop workable and affordable plans for infrastructure expansion and service adoption in northwest Missouri. Each P3 business plan must address strategies for increasing adoption of internet-based technologies and a plan to finance and construct the community’s internet network.  On August 20 the teams will present their proposals to a panel of judges at a public event in Maryville Missouri.  The teams’ plans may be used by the community in their broadband planning efforts.

Choose to attend via stream or in-person.
