This guide is one in the Exploring Energy Efficiency and Alternatives (E3A): Biodiesel Applications for the Home, Farm or Ranch series. Biodiesel may be derived from oilseed feedstock, known as virgin oil, or recycled vegetable oil. When feedstock is used, you should understand the economic factors that affect oilseed processing and how they relate to the overall economics of biodiesel production. This guide describes the economics of oilseed processing and of biodiesel production.
