Course Developer
The course developer is the Center Director of the Mid-America Trade Adjustment Assistance Center, or TAAC, part of the University of Missouri Extension's Business Development Program. Course Description
The purpose of course is strictly to provide information and knowledge. There are no prerequisite knowledge and competencies.
American manufacturing is facing increasing competition from imported products. In response the Economic Development Administration (EDA), part of the Department of Commerce provides trade adjustment assistance to manufacturing firms in the form of technical assistance and cost sharing of improvement projects.
Course Objectives
By completing this course the student will understand:
- The program’s goals
- Who can apply for the assistance
- What assistance is available
- The three phases of the program
- Where to get more information and assistance
Course Organization
This course consists of one module that is delivered in a lecture format.
Assessments and Grading
The course is ungraded. There is a quiz at the end of the course to reinforce the key points as well as end of course survey.
Textbook and Reading Materials
Copies are each module’s slides and speaker notes are available for download. There are no other materials needed.
Course Completion
A course completion certificate is provided with the submission of the training registration form, and the end of course satisfaction survey.
