Key Concepts for the Rural Practitioner 

  Course Description 

Providers who practice in rural communities face challenges often not shared by their colleagues in urban or suburban settings or in larger practice settings.  This series of learning modules addresses topics specifically requested by rural practitioners in Missouri, ranging from behavioral health to caring for older adults, and from communication issues to ethics.

At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants will be able to:

    • Identify common barriers and develop solutions to the barriers in the treatment of certain chronic conditions;
    • Improve communication skills with patients and families;
    • Recognize and proactively address ethical issues.
