The 2014 Soils and Crops Conference will give area producers the opportunity to hear up-to-date information and ideas from University of Missouri specialists; allowing them to make pivotal management decisions from research-based data. For this year’s conference, State Extension Specialist with the University of Missouri will make presentations and answer questions on the following topics: Weed Management Update for 2014 and Beyond, Soybean Cyst Nematode and Corn and Soybean Disease Update, Weather Tools for Agriculture, In-Season Nitrogen Management, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles – The Next High-Tech Tool for Agriculture. An update from the Missouri Soybean Association and Merchandising council will conclude the meeting. Continuing education units (CEUs) for Certified Crop Advisors will be offered. The Soils and Crops Conference is open to the public and will be held at the Ray County Veterans Memorial Community Building (312 Clark St., Richmond, MO). Lunch will be provided. The cost to attend the seminar is $10 per person (due at the door), and registration must be received by February 5th to assure adequate food. All fees collected will be used to offset the costs of the conference. For more information, contact the Ray County Extension Center at (816) 776-6961.
