Master Gardener Annual Plant Sale

Tomato plants are the Central Missouri Master Gardeners signature offering, but there will also be a variety of herbs, perennials, and annuals. This is their primary fundraiser to support the other community beautification projects. Doors open at 7 AM and the sale continues until sold out (about noon in prior years). Presentations on tomato and herb growing accentuate the shopping environment.
Salt River Master Gardeners' Plant Sale

The Salt River Master Gardeners will hold their annual plant sale on Saturday, May 3, from 8:00 a.m. to noon at the Y Men's Pavilion in the 100 block of Hill Street in downtown Hannibal.
There will be a large selection of annuals, perennials, vegetable, bedding, and herb plants, bulbs, hanging baskets, and more. Free seeds will be offered at checkout. Master gardeners will be available to answer your gardening questions.

This radio program is intended to educate viewers on a wide range of topics related to gardening in the Ozarks. Morris Westfall conducts the interview with Patrick Byers, MU Extension-Greene County regional horticulture specialist. The program airs several times on Saturday and Sunday on radio stations KWTO, KTXR, and KBFL.

Embryology - “Hatching Chicks in the Classroom” is an exciting adventure for students and teachers alike. The curriculum brings action and experience to the classroom, using a still-air incubator. Students observe the development of the chicks in the egg, hatching and post-hatch care.
Youth currently enrolled in the Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency's Head Start program will receive their eggs April 28th. They will observe the chick as it develops in the egg, hatches & will learn how to care for the chicks.

Harrison County Wellness Challenge-Nutrition Treasure Hunt 5/3/14
