Ag Science Week set for early February

The MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources will host the annual Ag Sciences Week, Feb. 2-5, at the Hearnes Center, Columbia.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Missouri Soybean Association, Missouri Ag Industries Council Inc. and the Missouri Corn Growers Association.

LSU plans workplace diversity conference

Louisiana State University will host its annual diversity conference, "Diversity Gumbo: Recipes for a Multicultural Workplace," Feb. 18-20, at Sheraton Baton Rouge Convention Center Hotel, Baton Rouge, La.

University Outreach and Extension faculty may apply for professional development funds to attend the conference.

Scott Marshall, executive director for the Nevada region with the National Conference for Community and Justice, will be among the guest speakers. The workshops and pre-conference institutes will cover such topics as a comparative analysis of Islam, Christianity and Judaism; domestic violence; guided dialogue to prevent conflict; and breaking the glass ceiling.

The registration fee is $100. Hotel rates are $75 per night.
