Consistent with the IRS rate and University practice, the mileage reimbursement rate will increase to 37.5 cents per mile effective Jan. 1, 2004, an increase from the 36 cents per mile rate in effect during 2003.
Individuals who will be submitting December travel vouchers should download a copy of the current form (updated Dec. 3, 2003) before yearend. January travel should be submitted on the 2004 travel voucher, which will be posted on the web after Jan. 1.
County extension centers now may establish accounts with S.G. Adams Office Solutions to take advantage of University pricing for office supplies. S.G. Adams will bill purchases directly to the county.

General Stores currently has an online office supply closeout sale. To order, offices should provide the county MoCode and PSacct 730000. MoCodes can be obtained from Shelly DeJaynes, Administrative Management.
The 4-H/Community Youth Development VISTA Program is accepting applications for AmeriCorps*VISTA positions to support new or expanded youth civic engagement and after-school computer lab programs. Up to four one-year positions will be awarded.
The VISTA program , funded through a three-year agreement with the Corporation for National and Community Service, targets low-income communities in developing and expanding high-quality youth development programs. Twelve AmeriCorps*VISTA members are working with community-based programs.
County extension offices and LU Cooperative Extension regional offices are eligible to apply. VISTA salaries and benefits are paid by AmeriCorps. Extension specialists recruit and supervise members. County extension councils and local communities supply office space, travel dollars and project support.
VISTA recruits will start work April 8, 2004. Projects are renewable for a second year. The deadline to apply is 5 p.m., Jan. 23.
