President
Floyd visits Franklin County extension center
More than 50
people turned out at the Franklin County outreach
and extension center for a Nov. 6 visit by UM
President Elson Floyd. He was welcomed by Franklin
County Extension Council Chair Harry Engelhart.
"The university appreciates the role council members play in supporting University Outreach and Extension programs," Floyd said. He then reviewed the recent announcement of the consolidation of administration for University Outreach and Extension. Responding to concerns about continuation, access and support of programming, President Floyd assured guests of the importance of outreach and extension across the state.
In addition to county council members and staff, guests included representatives of the Meramec Valley School District; Soil and Water Conservation District; child care providers; county commissioners; 4-H youth; community leaders and University alumni; Franklin County Cattlemen's Association; Family Court; Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services; Union School Nurses; Master Gardeners; Women's Financial Education Series speakers and coalition members; and the county health department.
East Central Region Director Bud Reber and Ken Bolte, ag business specialist and Franklin County program director, coordinated the open house.
