Larson
named Vet Med Extension leader
Bob Larson has been appointed director of MU Veterinary Medical Extension and Continuing Education. He succeeds David Hardin who left the University earlier this year.
Larson joined University Outreach and Extension in August 1996 as veterinary beef cattle specialist with the Commercial Agriculture program. He is an associate professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Veterinary Medicine and Surgery in continuing education and extension. His clinical experience includes veterinary practices in Kansas and Illinois.
Larson attended Kansas State University, where he completed a Ph.D. in reproductive physiology in 1992, a doctor of veterinary medicine in 1987 and a B.S. in agriculture in 1985. He is certified by the American College of Theriogenology and the American College of Animal Nutrition. Larson is the author of numerous publications, including refereed and non-refereed articles, abstracts and textbook chapters.
As director, Larson will provide leadership for continuing education programs for practicing veterinarians and extension programs for the general public in cooperation with regional extension specialists and campus colleagues.
