Mail allotments mailed, graphic standards clarified

Mail allotment checks for county offices were mailed Sept. 24, says Callie Glascock. The allotments may be used for mailings related to extension programming or business beginning Oct. 1. Funds are not intended for extension council business.

After Sept. 30, when the federal penalty mail privilege is eliminated, all mail must be sent as commercial mail. The allotments may be used for:

With the changes, UO/E Graphic Standards for envelopes will apply to all offices. Each office must use its own return address on envelopes.

Offices may continue to use supplies of penalty mail envelopes if the pre-printed return address and penalty for private use statement are covered. The return address must be changed to the office mailing address. A limited supply of penalty mail envelopes may be ordered for the cost of shipping and handling by contacting Shelly DeJaynes . MU General Stores announces changes

MU General Stores will implement changes in its operations. Beginning Oct. 1, ordering will be done online, and General Stores will no longer handle office supplies.

General Stores will continue the following services: cylinder gasses, University gas station, laundry, janitorial supplies, disposable paper supplies, Coca-Cola products, fire extinguishers, light bulbs, University forms and University records-retention boxes.

The University has entered into a contract with S.G. Adams Office Solutions to provide office supplies via online ordering. Departments will be required to set up an account and pay for supplies using a credit card.

"Knowing that county offices typically don't have a credit card, we are in the process of getting more information on the option available to them," says Callie Glascock, assistant director of administrative management. "In the interim, we recommend that county offices stock up on supplies if an office supply retailer is not close."

Sept. 29 will be the last day General Stores will accept walk-in, fax or mail orders. General stores will be closed for inventory, Sept. 30. On Oct. 1, orders can be placed online.
