Team working
on IT improvements for field operations
The Information Technology support team is working on IT improvements for the field, says Steve Wyatt, system program director. Data entry for the Unified Calendar is occurring throughout this month. Next month, the team will convert county, regional and program calendar webpages to the Unified Calendar.
The team also is working on a bandwidth strategy for county offices. "We want to thank each of the CPDs for helping us gather data on local bandwidth solutions," Wyatt says. The goal is to increase bandwidth and reduce costs.
Computer replacement is planned for late winter to early spring. A computer replacement team will be convened during late fall to ensure that purchase specifications for computers meet users' needs. Program leaders will identify key software programs that need to be installed on the computers.
The Centra desktop videoconferencing package is available for faculty and staff use. Up to 35 distinct IP addresses can be linked simultaneously. Contact Carol Hutchison to participate in a demonstration.
