Sandra Huston will assume program leadership for consumer and family economics extension in the MU College of Human Environmental Sciences Aug. 25.
As state consumer and family economics specialist, Huston will provide technical support and in-service education for regional specialists. She and will assist in program evaluation and use of technology in program efforts. Her position also includes teaching and research responsibilities.
Most recently, Huston was a visiting assistant professor in the college. She holds a doctoral degree from MU, a master's degree from the University of Guelph in Ontario, Canada, and a B.S. from the University of Manitoba.
"I feel honored that we were able to hire Sandra in this new position," says Jo Britt-Rankin, interim associate dean for HES extension. "I look forward to working with her and to having her bring her expertise to our program."
Mark Stillwell, CM Region director, and Steve Wyatt, system program director, have been selected for the 2003 class of the University of Missouri Leadership Development Program.
The yearlong program provides leadership development opportunities and ongoing support to academic leaders from the UM campuses and outreach and extension. Candidates are chosen from each UM campus and from outreach and extension. Using case studies and simulations, participants assess leadership styles, solve actual problems, develop an informal network of expertise and enhance personal leadership skills.
The LDP is part of the President's Academic Leadership Institute.
