The Shannon County extension center will be closed effective Aug. 15 due to lack of local funding.
The Shannon County Extension Council is hosting a reception in Eminence to express appreciation to the council, UO/E faculty, county commissioners, Shannon County residents and other stakeholders for their support over the past years. "I will continue to work with the Shannon County commissioners, the county extension council, MECCLC and UO/E administration toward future reopening of the office," says Wayne Moore, SC Region director.
Floyd Clark, SC community development specialist, will continue his duties in the region through December. Relocation for Cammie Younger, NEA, is being addressed. The secretarial position will be closed. "We appreciate Rhonda Bishop's enthusiastic personality during her tenure as secretary in the Shannon County extension office," Moore says.
