New one-year CD position opens

A new state community development specialist position, funded by the state Office of the Secretary of State, will be responsible for developing, piloting, delivering and evaluating a comprehensive statewide poll worker training program.  The position is funded for one year with a potential for renewal.

Working with UO/E and UM faculty and staff, the Missouri Association of Clerks, the Secretary of State’s office and a statewide advisory committee, the specialist will develop a program to build the competencies of poll workers, who have contact with more than 2.5 million citizens during a presidential election.  Poll workers will learn about customer service techniques, civil rights of voters, accounting and ballot security, polling place procedures and more.  The training is part of UO/E’s local government programming within the Community Decision Making and Governance Program.  The specialist will be accountable to Community Development Program Leader Mary Leuci.

The position will open under the Employees First program.  Interested applicants should follow instructions at the end of this newsletter for Employees First.
