2004 Annual Conference planning begins

Preliminary planning for the 2004 UO/E Annual Conference has begun. Leading the effort will be Jo Turner, 4-H youth development program director; Dave Baker, assistant dean of agriculture extension; Mary Simon Leuci, community development program director; Jo Britt-Rankin, interim associate dean of HES extension; Steve Wyatt, business and industry and information technology program director; and Julie Middleton, system program director.

To keep planning costs as low as possible, the core committee will use technology and other distributed approaches to get input from all UO/E stakeholders on the content and format for the event. Strategies to insure input will include:

• Establishing a website where UO/E stakeholders can complete surveys and make recommendations on their Annual Conference needs, interests and preferences.
• Posing questions in Weekly News that are open for general comment to the committee.
• Seeking input from UMEA, professional associations and UO/E constituent/interest groups, advisory groups and others.

Watch for announcements in upcoming Weekly News editions that solicit suggestions and feedback on the 2004 Annual Conference.
