University Outreach and Extension's Family Nutrition Education Program was commended by the Missouri Department of Social Services. In its year-end Food Stamp Nutrition Education Report, the department wrote: "The University of Missouri program continues to be innovative, as well as research-based, in meeting the needs of low-income youth. The "Kids in the Kitchen" curriculum demonstrates the University's ability to develop, test and implement effective educational strategies and builds on the already successful Show Me curriculum.
"The family nutrition program team, under the leadership of Administrative Director Jo Britt-Rankin, is to be congratulated for its outstanding service to low-income Missourians."
