Conference explores community-university partnerships

"Engagement Through Excellence" is the theme of the Outreach Scholarship 2003 conference, Oct. 12-14, in Madison, Wis. The conference will provide learning opportunities to broaden and deepen understanding of community-university engagement, including how to develop and nurture the university-community partnerships needed to make towns, cities, counties and states viable, vital places to live and work.

Conference tracks are Responsiveness, Partnerships and Resources, Academic Neutrality, Commitment to Diversity, Integration and Coordination.

University of Wisconsin-Extension, The Ohio State University and Penn State University are co-sponsoring the conference.

UO/E faculty and staff may apply to professional society meeting funds to support their participation. Individuals are eligible for $600 per year or $1,000 every two years. Faculty members who wish to apply for professional meeting funds should submit their application two months in advance.
