UO/E partners with Show-Me State Games

University Outreach and Extension is partnering with Missouri's Show-Me State Games to conduct the Show-Me Shape Up, a five-month program to encourage physical fitness, healthy behaviors and weight loss. Teams of two to 10 people can register for one of three events and log their progress on the Show Me Shape Up website. The program runs from May 1 to Oct. 1.

Each week, University Outreach and Extension will provide nutrition and fitness tips for the website.

Registration is $10 per team. Participants will receive a Show-Me Shape Up t-shirt, which includes the UO/E logo.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for UO/E to promote healthy lifestyles, establish a partnership with the Show-Me State Games and reap positive statewide publicity," says Alison Copeland, MU 4-H youth specialist.

Additional information is available from Copeland, (573) 882-8807, or Candy Gabel, associate state nutrition specialist, (573) 884-6388.
