Nominations sought for county clerical awards

County clerical award nominations are due May 23. The awards recognize support staff members who exhibit outstanding performance with the University of Missouri, University Outreach and Extension, and county extension councils.

Full- and part-time county office staff members may be nominated for awards in the following categories:

• Rookie of the Year: Full- or part-time county-based support staff member, hired between Jan. 1, 2001, and Dec. 31, 2002. Award amount: winner, $250; runners up, (2), $125.
• Junior Clerical: Full- or part-time county-based support staff members, 2-8 years of service (hired between Jan. 1, 1995, and Dec. 31, 2000). Award amount: winner, $400; runners up (2), $200.
• Senior Clerical: Full- or part-time county-based support staff members, more than 8 years of service (hired before Jan. 1, 1995). Award amount: winner: $600; runners up (2), $250.
• Use of Technology (2 categories): Full- or part-time county-based support staff members, 1 or more years of service. Categories: Desktop Publishing (brochures, flyers, etc.) and Other Technical Equipment or Computer Applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.). Award amounts: $200 per award.
• Innovation in Marketing UO/E: Full- or part-time county-based support staff members, 1 or more years of service. Award amount: $200.

Copies of the nomination materials are being sent to county offices in the Friday packet and are available through Staff Resources. Nominations must be postmarked by May 23 and sent to Kathy Maddox, chair, Jefferson County Outreach and Extension Center, P.O. Box 497, Hillsboro, MO 63050.

Nominations are reviewed and selected by members of the Clerical Awards Committee: Maddox: Georgette Koelker, Howard County; Maxine McBride Jackson, St. Louis City; Donna Wattenbarger, Linn County; Judy Steinman, Gentry County; Joyce Jones, Dent County; JoAnn Steffens, Perry County; Glenda Sherwood, Dade County; and Sandi Kelley, Clay County.
