Funding continues to
attend professional meetings
Dear Colleagues:
Last week I received a question related to the continuation of funding for professional regional UO/E faculty members to attend professional meetings, conferences and seminars. I am pleased to confirm that faculty will continue to be eligible for $600 per year or $1,000 every two years. An additional $400 is available to individuals who are invited presenters. Faculty members who wish to apply for professional meeting funds should submit their application two months in advance. Information is available on the Professional Development website.
Clearly, it is important for regional specialists to stay connected with colleagues across the nation and to have opportunities to grow professionally to benefit UO/E programs that improve people's lives. Support to attend meetings and conferences is one tangible way we can continue to foster professional development, even in times of fiscal constraint.
