Farm Family Day at the Missouri State Fair is an annual recognition of citizens who are active in their community and in local outreach and extension educational programs. The event is sponsored by University Outreach and Extension; the MU College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources; Missouri State Fair; Missouri Department of Agriculture; and Missouri Farm Bureau Federation. Farm Family Day will be celebrated Aug. 11.
The county outreach and extension council selects families. "Because Farm Bureau is a co-sponsor of this event, we encourage councils to include the local Farm Bureau in the selection process," says Dave Baker, assistant dean for agriculture and natural resources extension.
Information on Farm Family Day, selection criteria and a nomination form have been sent to county council chairs and county program directors.
