UO/E receives $175,743 in new grants

University Outreach and Extension received the following grants during February:

SBDC St. Louis Empowerment Zone; $130,000 (new) from St. Louis Regional Empowerment Zone; 10/1/02-9/30/03. The SBDC's presence in the empowerment zone will connect individuals with sources of capital, information on tax incentives and programs that pair small and large companies for mentoring relationships. Project manager: Max Summers.

eMINTS and Title 1, $45,743 (new) from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; 1/1/03-12/31/03. The eMINTS evaluation team will conduct evaluations of two groups of schools: those that began participating in 1999 and those that joined eMINTS in 2002-03. Project manager: Adam Bickford.
