FRTI offers workshops on FIRE ACT grant application process

The MU Fire and Rescue Training Institute, in cooperation with FEMA Region VII, will host a series of workshops on the application process for FIRE ACT grants. This year $460 million in grant funds is anticipated.

FIRE ACT grants provide assistance to local fire departments in safety and prevention, as well as training for firefighters. These workshops, delivered via the Missouri TeleCenter Network, will review the application process and provide tips on writing the narrative portion of the application.

Workshops are offered free of charge. Registration is not required. Classes, including dates, times and locations:

Feb. 17, 7-9 p.m. -- MUFRTI classroom-Columbia, Mexico, Reeds Spring, Kirksville and Portageville.

Feb. 20, 7-9 p.m. -- MUFRTI classroom-Columbia, Mineral Area, Salem, Nevada, Jefferson City, Poplar Bluff and Camdenton.
