Kansas City to host Cambio de Colores Conference

The second Cambio de Colores (Change of Colors) Conference, exploring the impact of Latino immigrants in Missouri, is set for March 12-14 at UM-Kansas City.

"Latinos in Missouri: Neighbors in Urban and Rural Communities" is sponsored by University Outreach and Extension, the UM System, UM-Columbia, UM-Kansas City and the Hispanic and Latin American Faculty and Staff Association. Dolores Arce-Kaptain, director of Project Alianzas, is co-chair with Sylvia Lazos, MU law professor. UO/E members of the planning committee include Marsha Alexander, WC environmental design specialist; Jinny Hopp, SW human development specialist; Steve Jeanetta, MU extension community development specialist; Jamie Thompson, CM consumer and family economics specialist; and Pat Williams, SW regional information technology specialist.

The conference will look at Census information, health care, employment, financial security, political participation, immigration law and civil rights, and mental health.

Conference registration is $155.
