Grant update
UO/E receives $37,000 during January

University Outreach and Extension received the following grant in January:

Award

Diabetes Today, $36,624 (new) from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services; 11/15/02 to 9/10/03. Funds will support the implementation and evaluation the Diabetes Today curriculum in eight Ozark counties and will incorporate "Dining with Diabetes" as a curriculum component in five of the counties. Project manager: Julie Middleton.

Proposals

University Outreach and Extension submitted the following proposals:

Missouri Bootheel and Southern Illinois Minority Farmers' Ag Produce Development Project, $100,000 (new) from the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Cooperative State Research, Education and Extension Service; May 2003 to April 2004. Project collaborators would work with the Missouri Bootheel/ Southern Illinois Small Farmer Produce Cooperative to increase the overall economic well being of minority farmers in that area. Project Manager: Van Ayers.

North Central Region Small Farm Task Force, $4,527 (new) from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; 1/1/03 to 12/31/03. Funds would support the coordination of workshop arrangements and website design for the North Central Region Small Farm Task Force. Project manager: Debi Kelly.

Consensus and Dispute Resolution, $13,770 (new) from SRA International Inc.; 1/1/03 to 12/31/03. UO/E would work with the Jefferson County Community Advisory Group of Herculaneum to facilitate meetings on the environmental health of the community. Project manager: Mary Leuci.

eMINTS and Title 1, $107,573 (new) from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education; 1/1/03 to 12/31/04. The proposal would support the evaluation of 27 eMINTS expansion schools and 42 schools that started participating in eMINTS in 2002-03. Project manager: Adam Bickford.
