Breakfast introduces President Floyd to legislators

Eight legislators attended a UO/E-sponsored breakfast in Jefferson City, Jan. 14, to meet new UM President Floyd and also to learn more about the effects of state budget reductions on higher education. Also representing the University were Ron Turner, executive vice president and director; and Jim Snider, assistant to the president for state governmental relations.

"The legislators were very positive about UO/E programs in their districts, and they asked how state budget reductions are affecting field faculty positions," Turner said. "The informal breakfast setting gave us an opportunity to thank them for their support."

Legislators attending the session were Rachel Bringer (Dist. 6), John Cauthorn (Dist.18), Pat Yaeger (Dist. 96), Brian Munzlinger (Dist. 1), Peter Myers, (Dist. 160), Wes Shoemeyer (Dist. 9), Vicky Riback Wilson (Dist. 25) and Jim Guest (Dist.5).
