University of Missouri Interim Provost Lori Franz appointed a 15-member committee to lead the nationwide search for the vice provost for extension. Committee members met Jan. 13 in Columbia to finalize the position description and establish a timeline for completing the search.
“Our goal is to interview candidates in April and have someone on board by mid- to late- summer,” said committee chair Mike Nolan, director of the applied sciences division in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources.
Nolan expects the position description and other search information to be available next week. The information will be posted online.
“After meeting with the committee, I feel that they will do an excellent job of representing all the diverse constituencies that extension serves,” Nolan said. “I have stressed to the committee that they are not there to represent any particular group but rather to do the best job possible to serve the interests of the University as a whole. If we accomplish that, all programs will be well served.”
