Missouri high school junior and seniors will audition, today, for the state's first All-State Honor Show Choir and first All-State Honor Jazz Choir at Missouri TeleCenter Network sites. Missouri is the first state in the nation conduct such auditions completely through interactive video.
"Rather than have students spend the entire day driving to and from a central location, students will be able to make a short trip to the closest site, audition and then go home," said Keith Crumley, coordinator of the Jefferson City Telecommunication Community Resource Center and director of Arts Across Missouri.
Auditions will be held at 10 sites: Kirksville, Maryville, Nevada, Portageville, Reeds Spring, Salem, Sedalia, Springfield, St. Louis and Warrensburg.
Students selected for the choirs will perform, July 16, in Jefferson City.
