MS FrontPage Tutorial -- University Outreach and Extension
Page Properties
Every object in the FrontPage Editor has properties. The most basic of these are the Page Properties, where you control the background color/image, text and link colors, page title and other parameters.
To access the page properties:
- Right click anywhere in the page
- Select Page Properties from the pop-up menu.
GENERAL tab
Here you can specify a title for your page. This will appear in the browser's title bar (the very top, usually bright-colored bar).
BACKGROUND tab
Here you can:
- Set the background color (The default background color for most browsers is gray.)
Select "Custom" to see a complete color palette- Set a background image (a small image that will tile to cover the entire browser window)
- Change the text, link and visited link colors, if desired.
CUSTOM tab
Here you can add keyword information about your page.
- Look at the USER VARIABLES section. Click ADD
- In the "Name:" line, type keywords
- In the "Value:" line, type some descriptive keywords about your page.
Adding keyword data to your pages will facilitate search engines indexing them so users are more likely to find it by searching on related words.
Margins tab
The parameters in the MARGINS tab are currently only supported under MS Internet Explorer 3.0 and above. They will not work in Netscape.
