Header section for "topic" pages on county web sites:
![]() |
1. Horizontal logo
location: http://extension.missouri.edu/images/uoelogos/horizontal-logo.gif
Please specify this URL in your page rather than copying the file to your own directory.The name of the county should be linked to the main page for the county web site.
2. Included search form
This search form queries the Extension Google search engine. Instructions for adding a site-specific search elsewhere in your page are here.3. Title bar
The title bar graphic is separated into 3 graphics, top, middle and bottom, so that the middle section is actually a table cell background image. The text is centered in the table cell and is formatted with the special style called ".titlebar". This makes it very easy to change the title when you use the template to create a new page.The three images are housed here:
http://outreach.missouri.edu/standards/title_top.gif
http://outreach.missouri.edu/standards/title_middle.gif
http://outreach.missouri.edu/standards/title_bottom.gifPlease DO NOT make copies of the images in your own directory -- just reference them in their current location.
4. Topic description
The descriptions for each topic area were written by the program leaders and are standardized for all county web sites. They are server side include pages that are housed with the other statewide include files. If you accidentally delete a description, you can reinsert it using one of the lines of code below:Agriculture:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/ag-intro.html"-->Business & Workforce:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/biz-intro.html"-->Children & Teens:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/children-intro.html"-->Community Development:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/community-intro.html"-->Environmental Quality:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/environment-intro.html"-->Family Life:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/family-intro.html"-->Home & Garden:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/homegarden-intro.html"-->Nutrition & Health:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/nutri-intro.html"-->
Page Body
The body of the topic pages can contain 4 sections:
Local Resources (optional)
This is content and links to other pages about programs happening in that county.Regional Resources
This is a "server side include" that pulls the list of regional resources from the regional web space. When editing in FrontPage, this just appears as a commenting noting that the include is embedded in the page and you should be careful not to delete it. The list of regional resources is maintained at the regional level by a designated maintainer. These links are determined collaboratively by the category specialists in the region.Regional includes are housed in the regional web space in topic-named directories. Below is the code necessary if a regional include gets deleted. Replace REGION with your region's web name -- id cmregion or ecregion.
Ag: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/ag/ag-include.html"-->
B&W: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/biz/biz-include.html"-->
C&T: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/children/children-include.html"-->
CD: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/community/commumity-include.html"-->
EQ: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/environment/environment-include.html"-->
FL: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/family/family-include.html"-->
HG: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/homegarden/homegarden-include.html"-->
NH: <!--#include virtual="/REGION/nutri/nutri-include.html"-->See: Tips for managing regional includes
Statewide Resources
Similar to the Regional Resources section, the Statewide Resources sections on the topic pages are server side includes, but they are housed at the state level and contain links to the main UO/E topic pages and other topic-specific program product pages. These include pages have been developed with the help of the program leaders and will be updated periodically.
When editing your county topic pages in FrontPage, you will just see a comment in place of the statewide section, indicating that the server side include reference is embedded in the page. In case the include gets deleted, here are the references you need:
Ag: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/ag-include.html"-->
B&W: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/biz-include.html"-->
C&T: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/children-include.html"-->
CD: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/community-include.html"-->
EQ: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/environment-include.html"-->
FL: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/family-include.html"-->
HG: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/homegarden-include.html"-->
NH: <!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/nutri-include.html"-->Additional Resources
This section can be customized with links to other universities, government agencies and other web sites that have educational value relevant to the topic.
Footer section for pages in county web sites:

5. Disclaimer for external links
This is a server side include and should be added on pages where you have links to external web sites -- sites not owned and authored by the University of MissouriInclude this disclaimer with this code:
<!--#include virtual="/standards/includes/disclaimer.html"-->6. Standard footer
This footer file resides in the county web site folder. You can have several footer files, with customized contact names for different sets of pages. For example, you might have a file called 4h-footer.html that has the name of the 4-H Youth specialist for your county.These elements must always appear in a footer:
1. University of Missouri Extension logo, hyper-linked to http://extension.missouri.edu with no border showing unless it is part of the logo
2. Conact name and e-mail address, and title if applicable
3. Last updated date. Use the automated time-stamp feature in FrontPage so this date will be updated automatically every time you save your page.
4. "Find an Office" image that links to http://extension.missouri.edu/regions/
5. Link back to your county office main page.
