Responsibilities
Outcomes
The UO/E web presence will:
- Deliver easily accessible
information and education to
audiences
- Establish consistent identity for
UO/E content and programs
- Integrate campus, system, regional
and local program content
- Distribute UO/E administrative
information

Regional Director
Regional directors have overall
responsibility for the content on regional and
county websites. Specifically, regional
directors:
- Serve as a liaison with the webmaster
- Monitor editing-access privileges for site
- Enforce UO/E web policies for sites in the
region
- Coordinate development for the website
- Ensure links and content are current
- Encourage addition of appropriate material
- Enforce a site review process
Note:
Since linking to another site implies
endorsement of that site’s content, sound
judgment must be used in determining
appropriate links on UO/E webpages. Examples
of appropriate links are other land-grant
institutions and accredited professional
societies.
Faculty/Professional
Staff Member
Faculty and professional staff members who
provide content for regional/county websites
have responsibility to:
- Author material and curriculum according
to established publication review procedures
- Ensure published materials are accurate,
current and valid
- Provide e-mail address to be used as link
to the author(s) from the site
Note: Before being posting on a website,
curricula and guidesheets must be reviewed by
the appropriate Program Leader.
County Program
Director
County program directors have overall
responsibility for content on the county office
website. Specifically, CPDs:
- Serve as a liaison with the webmaster
- Monitor editing-access privileges
- Enforce UO/E web policies
- Coordinate development activities for the
county website
- Ensure links and content are current
- Encourage addition of appropriate material
- Enforce a site review process

Support/Professional
Staff Member
Support or professional staff members who
create and maintain websites have responsibility
to:
- Adhere to web publishing policies and
graphic standards
- Become proficient in the use of web
publishing software
Extension Communications
Extension Communications provides overall
leadership in integrating the web in
system-level marketing, communications
functions. Specific responsibilities of
Extension Communications are to:
- Develop web publishing policies
- Develop policy to facilitate consistent
identity of UO/E
- Publish and support development and
maintenance of administrative content
- Consult with regional, system and campus
faculty and staff
- Assist in development of page templates,
graphics library
- Develop strategy and design structure for
UO/E site
- Monitor UO/E website for compliance with
web and identity policies
UO/E System Faculty and
Administrators
UO/E System faculty and administrators have
overall responsibility for content in the
appropriate administrative site. Specifically,
system faculty and administrators:
- Serve as a liaison with the webmaster
- Monitor editing-access privileges
- Enforce UO/E web policies in the site
- Coordinate development of the website
- Ensure links and content are current
- Encourage addition of appropriate material
- Enforce a site review process

UO/E Webmaster
The UO/E webmaster has overall
responsibility for technical management of
outreach.missouri.edu. Specifically, the UO/E
webmaster has responsibility to:
- Ensure web server hardware, software and
applications function correctly
- Allocate and monitor user accounts
- Select and provide technical support for
web publishing software
- Develop and deliver publishing software
training
- Assist in developing web publishing
policies
- Develop page templates and graphics
library
- Assist with development strategy and
design structure for UO/E site
- Assist in maintenance of administrative
pages
Program
Director/Program Leader
Program directors and program leaders have
overall responsibility for appropriate program
content. Specifically, program directors/program
leaders:
- Coordinate program content throughout the
site at statewide, regional and local levels
- Serve as a liaison with the webmaster
- Monitor editing-access privileges for
statewide site for program area
- Enforce UO/E web policies in the statewide
site for program area
- Coordinate web development activities for
the statewide site for program area
- Ensure links and content are current
- Encourage addition of appropriate material
- Enforce a site review process
