Purpose

  3. Efficient Processes & Systems.

·       Establish consistent identity.

·       Integrate information across counties, regions and campuses.

·       Enhance organizational image through uniform design.

Audience
·       Everyone (employees, public stakeholders, consumers) in equal proportion ·       No. 1: Consumers and potential consumers of UO/E products. No. 2: Employees, stakeholders and partners.
Views (Organization of Content)
·       Organizational structure

·       Consumer-oriented structure. Users offered choices for navigation, by:

·         Subject (deliverable products for consumers)

·         Organizational (internal)

·         Geographic (state/region/county)

·         Strategic (partner/stakeholder)

Content

·       Driven by organizational needs: Mostly information about organization and programs

·       Content decisions are at the discretion of individual page developers.

·       Driven by audience needs: Web delivers programs – education and information that improves people’s lives

·         Content development is driven by programmatic needs of audience.

Design & Management of Website

·       Page design and navigation inconsistent across webpages: Decisions at the discretion of individual webpage developers

·         All page maintenance and development is the responsibility of individual website managers.

·         County/regional sites are developed to varying degrees.

·       Page design and navigation consistent at all levels: state, regional, county – all pages are readily identifiable as part of UO/E.

·       Maintenance and development of common information (i.e., What is 4-H?) is centralized.

·       County/regional sites’ content/organization of information consistent.

·       Increased collaboration at regional level: shared work load.
