Installation Instructions for IBM PC Year 2000 Evaluation Tool

To successfully download and install the IBM PC Year 2000 Evaluation Tool, follow the steps listed below. Please note that a self-booting diskette will be created in step 5, and you will need a floppy diskette for this step. The Evaluation Tool will function ONLY when the system is booted to that diskette.

1.    Click on the IBM Year 2000 Evaluation Tool link,
2.    A file screen will appear with the file name "k3vt##a" (where ## is revision number).
3.    Select "SAVE" to download the file to your system. (Suggestion: Save the file in a temporary directory, on your hard drive, unless you have two 2 diskette drives in your system to unpack and create another diskette).
4.    Insert the floppy diskette into Drive A of your system.
5.    After the download is complete, select the file (k3vt##a) to open it, and follow the specific instructions located in the file.
6.    These short instructions clearly guide you in creating a system diskette. This diskette contains the Evaluation Tool.
7.    Name the diskette.
8.    Keep the diskette in Drive A of your machine, and then reboot the machine by switching it off then on again, or by pressing the keys CRT-ALT-Del simultaneously.
9.    REMINDER: The Evaluation Tool will work ONLY when run from the diskette.
