Community
Support and Volunteers are what make these crucial activities for our youth
possible. Please consider what skills
and experiences you can share with the youth in your community. It is important
that each and everyone of us makes an effort to assist our youth in gaining the
skills they need to compete in the job market and be successful in their daily
lives.
I have
listed below the volunteer positions that make the St. Louis 4-H computer labs
the success they are. If you feel you
have another skill that would be an asset please let me know. If none of these
volunteer options suit you, please consider visiting one of the other volunteer
match sites listed at www.outreach.missouri.edu/vista/rocchio

an electrician to do rewiring to enable the building to support more computers

Computer Instructor for Adults: As a way of
supporting and raising funds for the after school programs we offer adult
computer classes in the labs during non-after school hours. Instructors must
have knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel,
and/or PowerPoint. Teaching experience
is not necessary, but preferred. The Instructor, the Community and the director
of the lab site will schedule adult computer classes at times/days/dates that
are agreed upon.
We also like to provide youth will enrichment in a variety of
activities. If you have a skill or
trade you would like to share with youth ages 5-14 please contact me to set up
a date(s) for you to share with the youth. We are especially interested, but
certainly not limited to, any activities that are related to technology.
