County extension councils

In all 114 Missouri counties, an MU county extension council, of elected and appointed citizens, guides local educational programming. County council members are partners in the entire educational process, from needs assessment through program implementation and evaluation of outcomes.

Newly Released 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans 

The 2015-2020 Dietary Guidelines focuses on the big picture with recommendations to help Americans make choices that add up to an overall healthy eating pattern. To build a healthy eating pattern, combine healthy choices from across all food groups—while paying attention to calorie limits, too.

Congratulations to Gateway 4-H Club.

Members from the Gateway 4-H club took second place in both the programming and the robot skills challenges at a recent VEX competition. Their score of 111 for programming ranks them at 88th place in the world. The team will likely be awarded a spot at the state competition in February. Team members include Drachen Koester, Benjamin Brandt, Olivia Pfeiffer, Jessica Shaffer, and Kaleb Graves with Karen Brandt serving as the club leader.

The Fundamentals of Selling to the Government-The First Steps

The federal government awards more than $500 billion dollars in contracts annually to small business owners. Are you ready to market yourself to the world’s largest customer?

Our office will be presenting four seminars on how to sell to the government.  Each seminar will last three hours and will focus on the critical first steps to becoming a government contractor, how to identify opportunities and understanding the contracting process. The seminar will also cover MO PTAC (Procurement Technical Assistance Center) services available to assist Missouri businesses in all aspects of government contracting. From 8/1/2014 thru 7/31/ 2015 MO PTAC assisted small businesses receive $487M worth of federal contracts.

Each seminar will be on a Thursday at our office at 10650 Gateway Blvd., Creve Coeur, 63132 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.  The seminar dates are:
