Work $mart is an interactive workshop designed to give working women the confidence and skills they need to earn fair compensation and obtain promotions. The program provides participants with information about how to determine comparable salaries in their field and geographic area, and further provides them with negotiating skills and an opportunity to negotiate through a highly engaging role-playing exercise.

Safeguard Your Savings is sponsored by the Missouri Secretary of State, University of Missouri Extension, and the Investor Protection Trust, a nonprofit organization that provides objective information to help consumers make informed investment decisions. The workshop is taught by University of Missouri Extension financial education specialists.

Divorce on the Horizon? Considerations for Women

Nearly half of all marriages end in divorce. When that happens, women often face a greater decline in financial resources than men. This three-hour seminar helps those considering divorce or in the early stages of the divorce process. The information learned in the seminar will empower participants to make sound decisions as they consider their next steps. The next class will be Nov. 9 in Clayton. Women's Financial Education Series

If you want to learn how to manage money more effectively and gain confidence in your ability to make financial decisions, the Women's Financial Education Series can help. This is a five-session workshop that helps individuals, especially women, to improve money management skills, increase financial knowledge, develop confidence in decision-making abilities, and take control of their finances. All are welcome, but the series especially targets women. Partial scholarships are available.

Get Checking

Newly revised! The Get Checking program now offers both classroom and self-study options to obtain a completion certificate. This educational program is for people who do not have an account with a bank or credit union, have had account problems in the past or who want to learn more about their current account. Upon completion and after submitting a required ChexSystems report, participants receive a certificate to present at a participating bank or credit union to open an account. Safeguard Your Savings

Safeguard Your Savings is a four-hour workshop covering basics of saving and investing for people of all ages.
