About Ste. Gen Agriculture

Ste. Genevieve County has 168,121 acres dedicated to farmland.  It boasts 631 farms with an on average size of 266 acres.  There are approximately 54,819 harvested cropland acres and 25,943 pastured cropland acres.  There are approximately 24,900 total cattle and 15,700 hogs/pigs raised in the county.  Ste. Genevieve County Ranks 93 of 114 counties in total Cash Farm Receipts.

In addition, Ste. Genevieve Producers sell local produce and home-made wares from May through October at the Ste. Genevieve Farmers Market, located in historic downtown Ste. Genevieve.
