Club Leader by September 1 and to the Extension Office by September
15.
KEY AWARD:
Limited to members 14-18 years of age as of
Jan.1 of the current 4-H year.
Must have been a 4-H member for at least one year and must have
worked with an adult mentor.
4-H members must select a mentor and complete criteria in FOUR
developmental areas prior to being eligible for the 4-H Key Award.
The mentor will receive a medal recognizing their role and help
to the member. For each
of the following areas the member completes, they are eligible for a
recognition medal.

Excellence in Project Work
-
Leadership
-
Community Service
-
Personal Development
When all four areas are completed, the member is eligible for the
4-H Key Award. It is
expected that completion of all criteria will take two to several
years.
Applications due: September 1
4-H JACKET AWARD: Members age 13 and under
may apply. Each year four 4-H Jackets are awarded
to top 4-Hers.
DANFORTH "I DARE YOU" AWARD:
Must be 15 years or older to apply. A book
is given to two outstanding 4-H’ers. Candidates are nominated
by the club or club leader.
OUTSTANDING 4-H’ER AWARD:
Awarded to a boy and a girl for each year in
4-H. Selected from
award form due September 15.Any age may apply.
PROJECT MEDAL AWARDS:
Provides for as many as four medals in several project areas. Member
must submit a Missouri Recognition Form, which includes the 4-H
story of the member, to apply for these
awards .
Medals are only given for blue ribbon

Forms and only as many as permitted in a particular project area.
All forms are to be completed in the handwriting of the member
submitting the form.
JUNIOR LEADER PIN:
Given to a Junior Leader, 14 years and older, after successfully
completing his first planned program of leadership.
Junior Leaders must submit their plan for review by February 1
and then re-submit the plan by September 1, indicating their
accomplishments, to receive credit.
Numeral pins are given for each succeeding year
TEEN LEADER PIN:
Given to a Teen Leader after
successfully completing the first planned program of leadership.
Teen
Leaders must submit their plan for review by January1and then
resubmit the plan by September 1, indicating their accomplishments
to receive credit and pins. Numeral pins are given for each
succeeding year.
OUTSTANDING LEADER AWARD:
Awarded to one leader at the annual Recognition Awards.
Nominated by Club Leader and/or members.
Selected from application form due September 15.
LEADER’S
COMPLETION PIN :
Leaders who have completed 1 year of service receive a
pin. Leaders who have
completed 5, 10, 15, etc. years receive a pin and a certificate.
MEMBER COMPLETION PIN:
Given to the member to indicate that one or more very important step
has been taken up the ladder toward personal development by meeting
minimum requirements of one project.
